Jeff Lipsky is a celebrity, lifestyle, and advertising photographer known for his fresh, optimistic imagery. "I try to take the most beautiful photo I can, not just for the client but for myself," says Jeff. "I like to make women look beautiful and men look cool. I like to portray people in the best way. I like seeing people feel good. That makes me feel good." His clients range from apparel brands (Eddie Bauer, Roxy) to food and beverage brands (Häagen-Dazs, vitaminwater), to entertainment companies (including TV Land, Showtime, and Fox) and magazines such as Vogue, GQ, Esquire, Glamour, Outside, ESPN The Magazine, and Bon Appétit.
As a portrait photographer, Jeff has worked with celebrities such as Chris Pratt, Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, Mark Wahlberg, Jason Statham, Neil Patrick Harris, Julianne Moore, Emily Blunt, and Kerry Washington, among many others. He is also in demand in the music industry, having photographed pop stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, and Shakira, R&B artists like John Legend and Usher, and country music’s biggest names, including Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, and Kenny Chesney.
Before he moved to Southern California in 1998 to pursue photography, Jeff lived in Colorado, snowboarding in the winter and working as a fly-fishing guide in the summer. "After graduating from Boston University, I strapped my skis on top of my car and didn’t stop until I reached Telluride," he recalls. "I wanted to ski for a season but ended up staying for 10 years." Now based in the Palisades area of Los Angeles, he still finds time to teach, but instead of instructing people on outdoor sports, he guides students through the adventure of shooting portraits.
"I am always happy behind the camera," says Jeff. "It’s still a rush."
